DIG DKR Range holds meeting with SSPs to assess preparedness for elections

JAMMU, Apr 17: Deputy Inspector General of Police, DKR (Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban) Range Headquarters Batote, Shridhar Patil held a comprehensive meeting with the Senior Superintendents of Police (SSsP) of district Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban and all the supervisory officers of the range to assess and enhance the preparedness for the electoral process.
The meeting was held virtually and the main focus was to conduct the elections in Chenab Valley in smooth, fearless and incident free manner. Stress was given to take action on the proclaimed offenders, identification of the problem creators of their area of responsibility and to keep surveillance & and take action on the persons involved in previous incidents.
Progress on deposition of licensed weapons as well as other left out weapons was also discussed individually with the supervisory officers by the DIG and he take serious note on the weapons which are still not deposited by the licenses. Recoveries made by the FSTs and SSTs was also discussed and directions to gear up all these teams for effective progress in the coming days especially after the completion of campaign time.
Accommodation and other logistics provided to the incoming forces were also discussed. Directions to visit on their place of stay by concerned supervisory officers as well as SHOs, Incharge Police Posts, Beat officers for their comfort were given. Besides, these officers were directed to pay their visit in maximum polling stations falling in their AOR.
Plans for preparing safe routes for the movement of electoral personnel deployed for election duties were meticulously deliberated upon to ensure their safety and efficiency throughout the electoral process. Special attention was given to ensure strategic positioning of manpower to effectively monitor and respond to any potential threats or vulnerabilities. To prepare effective plan for de-induction of the forces for the 2nd phase in a planned manner was directed to the SSsP.
The meeting concluded with a directive to continuously monitor and assess the evolving security situation and maintain the sanctity of the electoral process.
