JAMMU, May 25: Director Health Services (DHS) Jammu, Dr Poonam Sethi conducted a surprise visit to Sub-District Hospital Kot Bhalwal, Community Health Centre Sohanjana and Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AAM) Surechak to assess the quality of healthcare services being provided to the public there.
During the visit, Dr Sethi inspected various sections of the hospital, including the Outpatient Department (OPD), Emergency Wing, Labour Room, Pharmacy and Laboratory. She interacted with the medical and paramedical staff and took feedback from patients regarding the facilities and services available at the hospital.
She laid special emphasis on the functioning of Emergency Rooms (ERs), cleanliness, availability of emergency drugs and life-saving medicines to ensure prompt management of patients during emergencies. She also reviewed the ongoing National Health Programmes to ensure effective implementation of government health schemes like AB-PMJAY, JSSK and JSSY for the benefit of the community.
The visit concluded with an interactive meeting with the hospital staff, where key issues related to patient care, record maintenance, sanitation, and the importance of maintaining cleanliness, punctuality and patient-friendly behaviour among all staff members were discussed.
She assured that all necessary support would be extended by the Directorate to strengthen health infrastructure and manpower at these health institutions.
