JAMMU, Jan 9: Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray J&K unit here today staged a protest demonstration demanding inclusion of Dharmarth Trust temples in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB).
The protest was led by J&K Shiv Sena president, Manish Sahni who urged upon J&K Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha to immediately intervene into the matter.
He said that plight of priests and temples in the city of temples is being ignored and Dharmarth Trust has moved away from its objective of preserving temples and Dogra culture.
The Shiv Sena leader also said that transparency in the functioning of the Trust is doubtful so the government should take appropriate steps immediately to protect these temples.
He said for the last 40 days, Trust employees and priests are on strike.
Sahni claimed that religious sentiments of Hindus are being hurt by Trust’s neglectful attitude and condition of temples is pathetic.
