RAJOURI, Jan 9: the people held a strong protest demonstration against the Flood Control Department authorities Rajouri for their utter negligence at Thanna Mandi town today.
The locals of the area led by Mohd Shafi Khan, Waheed Wani and Rizwan Raina, raised slogans against the Flood Control Department for their negligence in construction of proper protection walls/ raising of crates along the bank of local river near Vikas bridge in Thannamnandi.
They said due to recent rains and flood, massive land erosion has taken place and public suffered a lot. With the erosion, some portion of road has also been damaged. This has caused threat to many public structures/ houses.
The protesting people demanded that these works must be started immediately so that the residental houses may be protected. They sought immediate intervention of Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri into the matter.
