Dharmarth Trust employees continue strike

JAMMU, Jan 1: Dharmarth Trust employees, who are on protest for the last 32 days, today continued their ongoing chain hunger strike demanding constitution of Board for all the temples under Dharmarth Trust on the pattern of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.
A number of employees, including priests from various units of the Trust such as Shri Raghunath Mandir, Hari Bhawan Purmandal, Uttarbehni, Birpur and Central Office (Karan Bhawan) participated in the protest.
Those who sat on chain hunger strike on fifth day include Pt Hem Raj, Jagjit Chand, Pt Vimal Khajuria, Pt Bablu, Darshan Lal (guard), Pt Jagdish, Pt Satpal, Rinku Sharma, Asha Devi and Sheela Sharma.
Meanwhile, under Jan Jagran Abhiyan, a delegation of Dharmarth Trust employees led by working president Rajender Shastri met with Deputy Mayor, Advocate Purnima Sharma, Chief Secretary, B V R Subrahmanyam and handed over a memorandum to them highlighting their demands in detail.
