JAMMU, Jan 5: Dharmarth Trust employees, who are on protest for the last 36 days and observing chain hunger strike for the last nine days under the banner of Dharmarth Trust Employees Association (DTEA), today performed a Hawan and offered prayers wishing ‘good sense’ to the administration working under the leadership of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha.
The protesting employees assembled in the premises of Ranbireshwar Temple and performed Hawan in the Yagyashalla, praying the God to give some good sense to the Government, which is allegedly not showing its serious concern towards their ongoing agitation.
The protesting employees were demanding merge of all temples falling under the Dharmarth Trust into the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. The Trust employees also staged protests at Sudh Mahadev, Mantalai, Purmandal and Utter Behni.
To extend their support, Pritam Sharma, President Kranti Dal, who also observed the hunger strike, criticized the management of J&K Dharmarth Trust saying that they were bent upon destroying the Dogra culture.
