JAMMU, Mar 9: The J&K Dharmarth Trust today celebrated the 93rd birthday of former Sadr-i-Riyasat, Dr Karan Singh here.
The celebration was marked with great enthusiasm, and a Grand Rudra Abhishek Pooja was performed by the priests of Shree Raghunathji Temple and other temples under the Trust’s jurisdiction.
Ashok Kumar Sharma, the Secretary of the Trust, participated in the Pooja. Prasad was later distributed among the participants. The birthday of Dr Karan Singh was also celebrated at the Trust’s Central Office in Jammu, where Senior Advocate Ajay Gandotra, President of the Trust, and Ashok Kumar Sharma, Secretary, along with employees, celebrated the occasion.
Ajay Gandotra prayed for Dr Karan Singh’s longevity and highlighted his eminence as a scholar of great fame who had contributed immensely to social work in the state (Erstwhile J&K) and the national arena, uplifting the underprivileged and enlightening the masses on varied subjects, including religion, amity, camaraderie, and pluralistic ethos existing in the Indian sub-continent for ages. He wished him good health and a contented life ahead.
Later, Ajay Gandotra announced a one-day holiday for the employees of the Central Office on March 10, 2023, in honor of Dr Karan Singh’s 93rd birthday.
