JAMMU, July 2: A general meeting was held at General Bus Stand, B C Road Jammu where all the members, representatives and presidents of All Jammu and Kashmir Passenger Transport Association were present.
During deliberations it was decided that since JKUT Government has issued fresh route permits of contract carriage buses under draft notification SO -653, therefore, the Association resolved to frame new body/association- ” All J&K Contract Carriage Buses Union”, which shall work for the welfare of the transport sector.
The meeting in this regard was held under the leadership of Ajit Singh, Chairman All J&K Transport Welfare Association here today. With the consent of all, the new union framed today was given green nod to operate in J&K. A resolution was also adopted and passed by the members and it was unanimously resolved to elect/induct office bearers of the new body.
Mohinder Singh was nominated a chief patron, Ajit Singh as Chairman, Bharat Bhushan Sharma as Vice Chairman while Dharamveer Singh as president of All J&K Contract Carriage Passenger Buses Union.
It was also resolved that this Union shall operate under the umbrella of All J&K Transport Welfare Association (AJKTWA).
