JAMMU, Jan 6: Seeking stern action against the Pakistani terrorists who killed six innocent civilians in Rajouri’s Dhangri village the other day, several political parties staged a joint candle light sit-in here at Shaheedi Chowk Jammu on Thursday evening.
Raising slogans like “Atankvaad Hai Hai”, “Terrorism Down Down”, and “Hindu Muslim Sikh Isai Apas Main Hain Bhai Bhai”, the protesting party leaders highlighted the Government’s alleged failure in curbing targeted killings of civilians especially minorities.
Carrying tricolour in their hands, the prominent political leaders including ex-MP Sheikh Abdul Rehman, Congress’ Raman Bhalla NC’s Ratan Lal Gupta, Abdul Gani Malik, Sheikh Bashir, Shiv Sena’s Manish Sawhney, CPI(M)’s Comrade Muzzaffar, DYC’ Sukhdev Singh, IDP’s Narinder Khajuria, Akali Dal(A)’s Narinder Singh Khalsa and other leaders claimed that BJP’s “double -engine government” has failed to protect the minorities in Jammu and Kashmir.
The speakers also expressed solidarity with the family members of the civilians killed in Dangri and demanded that the perpetrators be taken to task as soon as possible.
