JAMMU, Nov 25: The president of District Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC) Jammu, S Jagjit Singh, has been removed by the majority of the DGPC members, through `no confidence motion’ moved against him here today.
According to general secretary, DGPC Jammu, S Fateh Singh, in an emergency meeting held here in the committee office today, out of the 11 members, seven (7) of them signed the motion, expressing `no confidence’ against the president. The members in a joint statement have alleged that S Jagjit Singh failed to discharge his duties as per the provisions of Gurudwara Act and as per the wishes of the Sikh Sangat. Moreover, he was not taking other elected members into confidence in various issues. The general secretary said the new president will be elected soon.
Those who signed the motion included- S Manmohan Singh, S Darbinder Singh, S Avtar Singh Khalsa, Jathedar Mohinder Singh, S Raja Singh, S Ramneek Singh and S Fateh Singh.
