DGP sanctions welfare relief, loan for police personnel

JAMMU, May 1: Continuing with an aim to provide more and more welfare measures for police personnel and to give financial assistance to meet the urgent needs, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned welfare loan in favour of 312 officers and personnel of J&K Police. The amount has been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund.
Welfare loan-cum-relief of Rs 3,19,60,000 has been sanctioned in favour of 312 police personnel.
Among these 312 police personnel, 39 personnel suffering from different ailments, have been provided loan and relief for self-treatment. Similarly, 38 police personnel have been provided loan and relief for the treatment of their dependents.
219 police personnel have been provided loan to meet the expenses of their own marriage, marriage of wards. Two police personnel were provided loan for circumcision of their wards and one for mundan. 13 police personnel have been provided loan for higher education of their wards.
The DGP J&K also sanctioned rupees five thousand each to Constable Rayees Ahmad, SPO Aijaz Ahmad and Rs 1 lakh to SPO Vishal Singh out of Central Police Welfare Fund and Police Pariwar Fund who were injured while performing their legitimate duties.
