DGP sanctions over Rs 13 lakh for 53 police, retired personnel

JAMMU, Aug 30: As a part of welfare measure, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has granted financial assistance and medical relief of over Rs 13 lakh in favour of 53 police personnel which include retired policemen, SPOs and NoKs of deceased police personnel to compensate the expenses in connection with self treatment, treatment of their dependents or marriage of their wards.
DGP has sanctioned welfare relief of Rs 5,10,000 in favour of 31 retired police/NoKs of police personnel to compensate the unavoidable expenses for self treatment and treatment of their dependents.
Rs 4.25 lakh have been provided for self treatment to 20 retired police personnel for self treatment or treatment of their dependents, suffering from life threatening diseases. Similarly Rs 85,000 has been sanctioned in favour of 5 NoKs of deceased police personnel to assist them in the hour of need.
The relief amount of Rs 95,000 has been sanctioned in favour of 6 retired policemen for the marriage of their daughter/son to cater their urgent needs. The amount has been sanctioned out of Retired Policemen Welfare Fund.
Rs 8,07,084 as financial assistance/medical relief has been sanctioned in favour of 22 SPOs posted at different districts viz Srinagar, Baramulla, Budgam, Doda, Reasi, Kulgam, Anantnag, Shopian, Ganderbal and Kupwara out of Police Pariwar Fund and SPOs Contributory Fund.
The assistance in favour of these SPOs has been sanctioned at different rates to pay the expenses in connection with self treatment or treatment of their dependents.
