DGP Home Guards promotes 62 personnel, announces cash rewards

SRINAGAR, June 9: DGP-cum-Commandant General Home Guards/Civil Defence and SDRF J&K V K Singh has accorded promotion to 62 personnel of SDRF and Home Guards and also announced cash reward of Rs 2000 each for the personnel deployed in different COVID care centres.
“23 Assistant Sub-Inspectors were promoted to the rank of Sub-Inspectors, 7 Head Constables to the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspectors and 32 SG Constables to the rank of Head Constables after a Departmental Promotion Committee held on June 7 under the chairmanship of V K Singh,” a release issued by the office of the DGP said.
Meanwhile, the DGP-cum-Commandant visited COVID care centres established at Chest Disease Hospital Srinagar, JVC (SKIMS) Bemina and Hajj House along with Dr Talat Jabeen (Epidemiologist/SSO Kashmir) and interacted with the SDRF/NDRF personnel deployed for duties at these centres.
In order to boost their morale, the Commandant General announced grant of Commendation Certificates Class-I along with cash reward of Rs 2000 each to the SDRF/NDRF personnel. He also lauded the role of personnel who worked tirelessly at COVID care centres.
