JAMMU, May 24: Director General of Prosecution Deepak Kumar today called upon prosecutors to follow the principles of “Sadan and Sadhna” in service while addressing a valedictory session of an orientation programme organised by the J&K Prosecution Headquarters at Police Auditorium, Jammu, in support of the Nasha Mukt J&K campaign.
Addressing prosecutors and officers, the DG Prosecution said “Sadan” represents the institution and dignity of the justice delivery system, while “Sadhna” reflects continuous dedication, discipline and sincere commitment towards duty.
He urged prosecutors to uphold the sanctity of institutions and maintain devoted service in their professional conduct.
Kumar also stressed the need for professionalism, ethical conduct, proper court preparation and continuous learning to ensure effective administration of justice.
He highlighted the importance of close coordination with investigating agencies and maintaining high standards in prosecution work, particularly in sensitive cases.
He also underlined the collective responsibility of law enforcement agencies and prosecutors in supporting the Nasha Mukt J&K campaign and strengthening public confidence in the justice system.
The inaugural address was delivered by Director Prosecution Jammu and programme coordinator Sunita Kargotra, who highlighted the importance of regular professional training for prosecutors.
During the programme, Manzar Khayam delivered a lecture on NDPS cases, while Amir Beigh spoke on trials in absentia, perjury and bail matters.
Harminder Singh conducted a session on proper examination of witnesses during criminal trials. The proceedings were conducted by Rajesh Gill, Deputy Director Jammu.
A large number of prosecutors and officers from Jammu province attended the programme and participated in interactive sessions.
