JAMMU, Mar 24: DGP Prisons S.P Vaid has ordered departmental enquiry against an official posted at District Jail Baramulla for his alleged involvement in smuggling of contraband articles inside the prison.
The official was placed under suspension with immediate effect and the Enquiry Officer was asked to submit his report within a week’s time. The matter was reported by the Jail Superintendent and was backed by an input from the State CID, an official spokesperson said.
District Jail Baramulla was commissioned in 1985 and is a high security jail which houses nearly 150 inmates including female prisoners.
