SRINAGAR, June 27: Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar, DG, CRPF, met Governor N. N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan today.
Governor and DG discussed issues relating to internal security management and the Police-CRPF operational deployments made for the smooth conduct of the Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
Muneer Ahmad Khan, ADGP Home Guards, Security and Law and Order also called on Governor and briefed him about several important matters relating to Security and Law and Order management. He particularly discussed arrangements for the ensuing Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
Governor emphasized on Khan the vital importance of regularly reviewing and effectively ensuring the security of all protected premises and vital installations and to take all required steps for minimising collateral damage during counter-terror operations.
Meanwhile, a delegation of various Heads of Missions, including Gayatri Issar Kumar, Indian Ambassador to Belgium, Ajay Bisaria, Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan and Vikram Misri, Indian Ambassador to Myanmar, who are on a visit to J&K, called on Governor and discussed with him political, economic and developmental issues relating to J&K.
Prof. Ibrahim Hafeezur Rehman, Director, Vision for Technology (VITO), Belgium also called on Governor.
Prof. Rehman briefed Governor about research work done by him in the field of environment and shared his views about the need for most urgent steps being taken for the conservation of the fragile ecology of the State, and, particularly, rejuvenation of the world-famous Dal and Wular lakes.
He also offered suggestions regarding the initiatives required for promotion of sustainable eco-friendly tourism.
