Development works await Govt attention in Rajouri : Beopar Mandal

RAJOURI, Dec 4: Beopar Mandal Rajouri has said that major development works still await Government’s proper attention in Rajouri town.
Addresses a press conference here today Municipal Counsellor of Ward 7 of Rajouri town and president of Beopar Mandal Rajouri, Rajesh Gupta (Bittu Shah) demanded a special development package for Rajouri town as a number of important works await Government’s attention here.
Gupta said that Mini Secretariat is one of the most important projects for district headquarters but it is hanging midway and recently district administration has done some spade work on it. The Government should make it sure that this vital administrative institution is established at the earliest so that people can get all offices under one roof at Rajouri.
He said that Mother and Child Care Hospital building in Rajouri is already complete but Government is not paying any attention towards its operationalisation of it which is very unfortunate. A Ware House was sanctioned for Rajouri town by the then Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti but there is no development on the project while multiple projects mooted for parking slots in the town have found no takers so far and both traders as well as locals are suffering due to absence of Ware House as well as parking slots, Gupta said.
The local trade body head expressed concern over casual attitude of J&K Government as no regular Principal has been appointed in GMC Rajouri since one year and things are being run through additional charge which shows that healthcare sector of Rajouri is a least priority for Government. He highlighted the grievances faced by educated unemployed youth who have to visit far flung area of Kotedhara where District Employment Counselling office is located.
” The site selection for this office was done on political grounds and thousands of youth of the district are now struggling to reach at the office and we demand that this vital office should be relocated somewhere in the town or its vicinity,” Gupta added.
He mentioned about absence of slaughter house in town due to which slaughter of meat/ animals is done in open creating a fear among children for which a special project should be sanctioned to establish slaughter house in Rajouri town.
Gupta castigated the concerned authorities for poor progress in utilisation of funds under 14 FC 2017-18 adding that adequate funds are available but lying unused as tenders have not done by the authorities.
Highlighting the issue of encroachment, Gupta said that the exit route of new bus stand at Salani Bridge has been encroached and there is now only a single entry and exit route which can create problems during any emergency. He demanded expedition of work on construction of circular road in town, a special project under Jal Jeevan Mission for Rajouri town immediate repair of BGSB University road.
