Development is poll plank of Cong: Balwan Singh

JAMMU, Nov 9: Recalling the tenure of Ghulam Nabi Azad as Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir in 2006-08, Congress candidate for Raipur Domana Mula Ram wooed voters, saying that Congress Government had replaced the uncertainty in the State with all-round development, and promised to do so again, if voted to power.
“Congress-led coalition from 2006-08 banished the cult of hopelessness and stagnation from the State and replaced it with a new paradigm of governance based on the assumption of early fulfillment of public demands and fast-track execution of developmental works,” Mula Ram said in a public meeting organised in Gho Manhasa in favour of Congress candidate for Marh Balwan Singh.
On the campaign trail in Marh , he said, “we will once again revive the same paradigm of all-round and equitable development, if people repose trust in us”.
The Congress-led coalition Government successfully broke the myth that development is a utopian dream, he said.
Balwan Singh who is Congress candidate for Marh Constituency  in his address said that country has witnessed tremendous development in all spheres of life under UPA regime in the past 10 years including Jammu and Kashmir especially pro-poor schemes which have benefitted all sections of the society.  He said that UPA-I and UPA-II have devised and implemented many schemes for rural areas poor by way of providing them shelter under IAY and health cover, checkup under NRHM other schemes including RGGVY, MGNREGA, BRGF, etc.
He cautioned people to beware of the divisive forces in the name of religion or region for their vested interest. He said that BJP has no stake in the Chenab Valley except giving hollow slogans and voting for such a party is wasting the vote. He asked the people to make best use of their vote and elect the Congress Party.
Many other prominent leaders of the party were also present on the occasion.
