JAMMU, Nov 9: Deputy Speaker Legislative Assembly and senior PDP leader Sartaj Madni who is re-contesting elections from Devsar Assembly Segment and Party candidate from Kulgam Constituency, Nazir Ahmed Laway addressed the public meetings at Jagi Darbar here and Jagti migrant Camp today.
The two leaders in their address appealed the people of both these constituencies to cast their vote in favour of PDP which is committed to the honourable and dignified return of Kashmiri migrants to Valley and which has kept the demand in its poll manifesto also.
Mr Madni said the State has suffered a lot whenever NC –Congress joined hands and it was high time for the people to vote for PDP to strengthen basic institutes of democracy in the State and bridge the gulf created between the two communities due to wrong policies of these two parties.
He said the implementation of PM’s employment package in letter and spirit will be the priority of PDP Government if Party is voted to power. Besides, settling all the pending demands of the migrants including release of balance, ex-gratia, and solution of problems of traders, camp inmates etc will be top on Party’s agenda.
He said it was PDP only which extended its full support to passage of Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Temples Bill while NC, Congress and BJP played politics on it. He said if voted to power Party will not betray the KPs on this account.
PDP Minority Cell chairman Ramesh Koul who also addressed the meetings said only able leadership of Mufti Mohammed Syed can put the State back on rails and this was the reason that former Prime Minster, Atal Behari Vajpayee had also given him a free hand in tackling the situation in the State.
Other Party leaders who spoke in the meetings included M K Raina, P K Sharma, S K Raina (Jawhar) and Ashok Sidha.
