NAGROTA, Sept 1: MLA Nagrota and Provincial President National Conference Devender Singh Rana today said that development of the constituency has been top on his agenda and to seek priority works executed he will continue to coordinate with various developmental agencies and knock every door as a reprehensive of the people.
A delegation of the residents of Badsoo-Pali area, which called on Rana here today expressed gratitude to him for getting 3. 25-kilometer Urlani Pali Road with 25mtr span motorable bridge, approved under Central Road Fund at a cost of Rs 8 crore.
The delegation said that Rana with his consistent efforts from the very first District Development Board Meeting after becoming an MLA raised this issue before the Chief Minister and thereafter followed it by recommending it under CRF since an MLA’s recommendation is required for a road to be taken up under CRF. They said Rana has taken historic initiatives despite being in the opposition and those who have been MLAs here in the past have never bothered for the development of the constituency.
They  said the matter had been taken up at various levels with the State Government for getting this road and motorable bridge sanctioned, keeping in view its utility for the mobility of people and movement of essentials. They said the issue had been taken up at the highest level to seek its incorporation in the central plan and hoped that the work on this vital link will be taken up soon.
Rana thanked the people for their unflinching support which he said has been a source of strength, which inspires him to get various projects and schemes formulated and approved at various levels. He said the need of this road and the bridge had been long standing and but for the consistent persuasion the allocation would not have become possible.
The MLA assured the delegation that development of the constituency as per immediate requirements of the residents of various areas remains priority for him. “We have been consistently highlighting the development needs in various forums and at various levels so that the problems of the people get redressed earnestly”, he said and hoped that early completion of the Urlani-Pali Road and the bridge will meet longstanding demand of the residents.
Earlier, Rana visited different developmental works in Panchayats Churta and Dansal and addressed various demands of the local people.
