SRINAGAR : Despite heavy snowfall, the Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, capital of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) left for Kaman post, the last Indian military post on this side of the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector in Baramulla district.
The weekly bus left Srinagar without any passenger this morning, official sources told.
However, they said some passengers, including returnees are reaching Uri directly for crossing over to other side of the LoC. It was not immediately clear whether the bus from Muzaffarabad also left for Chakoti on other side of LoC as there was heavy snowfall in the entire region since last night. The bus service, introduced on April 7, 2005 has helped thousands of families divided in 1947 due to partition, to meet each other.
