JAMMU, Sept 16: Yet another towering personality of the International Theatre arena, Derek Goldman featured in Natrang’s International Theatre Talk show live on its Facebook Page today.
Natrang’s artist Samarthya Gupta introduced Derek Goldman to the guests.
Director Natrang, Padmashri Balwant Thakur stated that Natrang’s exemplary endeavour to feature eminent theatre personalities of India and abroad to enlighten the global audience with their unique vision of theatre has proved to be a boon for theatre enthusiasts and art lovers.
In a very inspirational session, Derek enlightened his path breaking vision about theatre which is no doubt backed with intellect, experience, dedication and wisdom. His immense contribution to the field is a source of inspiration for thousands. His works break down stereotypes and reframe today’s problems in humanistic terms. His Lab has created a platform for like-minded artists, scholars, and activists to build a network with each other and to hear voices from around the world as it is very important for all of us to join forces in creating work that decreases polarization, division, and misunderstanding.
“Theater isn’t good at everything, but it can be spectacularly good at countering polarization through the empathy it enables in a live, communal setting, and through its capacity to humanize others. Cross-Currents is in many ways the epitome and culmination of his Lab’s eight years of work, as we bring together groundbreaking artists and performances from around the world who are tackling society’s most challenging issues. These artists give us hope”, benevolent Goldman states.
With the vision to spread harmony and awareness through theatre, The Lab has partnered with more than 50 theaters, embassies, and cultural, educational, activist and social service organizations and is deeply committed to shaping and being active participants in a group of innovative core initiatives that strengthen the field and foster vital new interdisciplinary, cross-sector, and cross-cultural relationships and opportunities.
