Dental Assistant found running private clinic during duty hrs, suspended

JAMMU, Dec 9: A Dental Assistant was suspended today by Director Health Services Jammu after the former was found running his illegal private clinic during duty hours.
“Pending enquiry, Munish Kumar, Junior Dental Technician posted at PHC Godufalal, Block Billawar, District Kathua is placed under suspension with immediate effect in terms of Rule 31 (1) of J&K Civil Services (Classification, Control & Appeal) Rules, 1956,” said an order issued today by Director Health Services, Jammu Dr Renu Sharma. As per the order, the official shall remain attached in the official of Chief Medical Officer, Kathua during his suspension period.
The official was placed under suspension on basis of a complaint that he has opened an illegal dental clinic opposite Tehsil Office Billawar where he is fleecing gullible dental patients by charging huge sum of money and practicing during duty hours.
The Additional Chief Secretary Health & Medical Education (H&ME) Department Vivek Bhardwaj while taking a note of the complaint deputed a team from Civil Secretariat Jammu to PHC Godufalal Billawar where the official was found absent from duties and operating his private dental clinic. All the books of account and the CCTV footage seized from the clinic have suggested that the official was doing the private practice during working hours that too without requisite license.
Bhardwaj meanwhile said that such conduct of Government officials in the Health sector shall not be tolerated and strict action shall be taken against those employees who are found to be indulging in illegal private practice during working hours. He cautioned the medical and para-medical workers that from indulging in such illegal practices. He further added that strict action such as termination from services shall be taken against such employees.
