KISHTWAR, Sept 21: As part of ongoing celebration by the Indian Army on golden jubilee of 1965 Indo-Pak War all over the country, the troops of Delta Force at Kishtwar organized a “Know Your Army” rally at Kishtwar Advance Landing Ground, today.
The series of celebration were started by the troops of Rashtriya Rifles at Kishtwar a fortnight ago by organizing various events like Debate, on the spot Painting Competition, Essay Writing Competition, Various Sports events, Screening of 1965 War movies for the youth and school going children in the far-flung places of Kishtwar region including areas of Navapachchi, Dachan, Paddar, Patnazi and Sirthal.
The prime aim of these noble events was to bring awareness in the younger generation toward the glorious achievements of Indian Army and also to make them aware of the sacrifices made by the countrymen during this three weeks war with Pakistan and also to motivate them to join the Armed Forces as part of nation building.
The celebration culminated today at Kishtwar helipad where a glistering display of Infantry Weapons and equipments along with cultural programme was organized as “Know Your Army” rally.
The rally was inaugurated by the Sector Commander of Kishtwar based Rashtriya Rifle Sector of Delta Force in the presence of Saugat Biswas, Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar, who was invited as guest of honour.
Amongst other dignitaries present during the event were Y Manhas, SP Kishtwar, Additional DC and Additional SP, Kishtwar besides Commandant CISF and CRPF Battalion at Kishtwar.
In this unique event of its kind, the locals and school children of Kishtwar arrived and participated in huge numbers.
