During the recent times the creation of New Districts and Administrative Units in J&K State were undoubtedly bold and praiseworthy steps. It was the pressing need of the hour. The J&K State like other States of the country has also grown up in all facets. It deserves expansion in various fields and at various levels for its overall speedy development. If it lags behind in any sector the whole of the state gets affected.
It is to voice here straightway that unless the new assembly constituencies are created in the State by delimitating existing ones the above created units would not yield desired results. It would prove a half hearted and incomplete exercise to address the public grievances. The people need better representation, better service and better governance for progress and prosperity in every nook and corner of the State. The Government should not wait or hesitate to undo the self created deadline of the year 2026 i.e where after the delimitation of J&K Assembly Constituencies could be initiated. It too depends upon the sweet will of the ruling elite. The present Government if really is sincere to the peoples’ aspirations and difficulties it should immediately review the ceased issue and promptly pave way for the most required and much debated delimitation of assembly constituences in J&K.
