JAMMU, Aug 21: A delegation of Jammu & Kashmir Apni Party called upon the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and presented a memorandum of demands at the Raj Bhavan here today.
The delegation led by Dilawar Mir demanded restoration of statehood, release of detainees under PSA, all weather connectivity between Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of the nation, rights of local population over mining and ecological activities, constuction of bunkers for border dwellers, regularisation of daily wagers, setting up separate CAT at Srinagar, implementation of Forest Rights Act and complete restoration of internet services among others.
The J&K Apni Party delegation presented host of issues being faced by the public and economy of Jammu and Kashmir and demanded that certain schemes be instituted to rejuvenate the economy. They also highlighted the losses faced by tourism industry, demanding initiatives to kickstart the ailing industry in J&K.
The Lieutenant Governor assured the delegation that all the demands would be looked into and appropriate steps would be taken on merit. He also reaffirmed the resolve of the Union Government for providing basic minimum amenities to all residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
Ch Zulfkar Ali, Ajaz Ahmad Khan, Manjit Singh, Vijay Bakaya, Syed Asgar Ali, Mumtaz Ahmad Khan, Yawar Dilawar Mir, Vikram Malhotra and Namrata Sharma were also part of the delegation.
