Delegation from Zanaskar demands early redressal of problems

JAMMU, Mar 24: Tsering Angdus, Councilor LAHDC, Kargil who is heading a delegation of the locals from the Zanskar area of Kargil district to present the demands of the area before the Government here today said that people in Zanaskar Sub Division are leading a miserable life due to prolonged problems which have not been redressed despite the repeated pleas to the authorities.
In a statement issued here today along with Tsewang Norboo president N C Zanaskar, Mr Angdus demanded creation of Block for Stooth Zanaskar, sanction of funds for the same, up- gradation of high school Phey, proper implementation of Lungnak block, regularization of helicopter service in Zanskar during Winter, accelerating the work on Chader road and delimitation of Zanaskar Constituency.
He said the people of Zanaskar never got their own representative in the State Assembly as the Constituency has not been properly delimited.
He said if the area is properly delimited the area will get its proper representative. He also demanded construction of Irrigation canal from Tipuk to Karshah in Zanaskar and upgradation of MAC Tungri, Phey and Zangla into AD.
He urged the concerned authorities to take early steps in redressing the problems of the people of Zanaskar region. He besides Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah the delegation met various ministers and secretaries in Civil Secretariat here and apprised them of their problems seeking immediate redressal of the same.
