KATHUA, Mar 24: Minister of State for Fisheries, Cooperatives, Finance and Planning Dr Manohar Lal Sharma laid foundation stone of 6.3 MVA receiving station at Mandli of tehsil Billawar today.
Superintendent Engineer, PDD Jammu accompanied the Minister during the ceremony.
The Mandli receiving station is being constructed by STD-III Kathua, under REC, Government of India scheme with an estimated cost of Rs 1.13 crore.
Addressing a gathering on the occasion, Dr Sharma said that with the coming up of 6.3 MVA 33Kv receiving station, the long pending demand of people will be addressed. He said with the completion of the project, voltage of electricity will improve in domestic and commercial installations of the various habitations of Durang, Dungada, Mandli, Kohag , Lahri and Bathri area, benefitting over thirty thousand population. He said that improvement in voltage will also help in capacity of drinking water supply to the concerned areas.
