JAMMU, Oct 30 A delegation of activists of Prem Nagar, Vivekanand Chowk and Gujjar Nagar road led by BJP’s Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary Constituency Incharge & BJYM Prabhari ,Yudhvir Sethi called on SSP, Jammu Atul Goel and apprised him of the hardships faced by the people of their areas and which could be mitigated by cooperation and positive attitude of the Police personnel deployed in the area.
The overbearing and high handed conduct of some police personnel posted in the area, especially that of a SPO was brought to the notice of the SSP. The details of mis-conduct of the said SPO were conveyed to the SSP especially by the ladies whom he would specially target. The people suggested ways and means of enhancing the effectiveness of the police in making the areas concerned more secure and congenial for living. It was pointed out by the delegates that the people of these areas are extremely poor, socially discriminated and have suffered more on account of miscreants and other characters.
Mr Goel after hearing the complaints and suggestions of the delegates assured them of effective action in respect of their problems. He further said that people can bring to the notice of the police authorities their problems and suggestions during Public -Police meet which is regular feature of the Department. He added that it is the endeavour of the Department to make it as people friendly as possible and assured them of appropriate response to whatever they may convey to the police and for that purpose gave them his personal and official contact numbers.
Mr Sethi complimenting SSP, Jammu for his positive and helpful action, said that the problems of the public shall be brought to the notice of the police authorities regularly in proper manner.
The delegations included Bittu Pradhan, Krishan Gupta, Bitti Verma, Sohan Lal, Ramesh Kumar, Deepak Kumar, Vinod Verma, Mrs. Asha Devi and Mrs. Pinky.
