KATHUA, Apr 21:The decomposed dead body of an octogenarian lady was fished out from canal at Pathwal near Dayala Chak after six months today.
The old lady identified as Puro Devi wife of Melu Ram was washed away by the swift waters of Kathau Canal six months back at Chandwa near Chadwal when she had come to wash clothes on the canal bank. She slipped into the canal and was washed away by swift current of water. Though police tried hard to locate her dead it could not trace her.
However today the body was seen in a decomposed form floating in the canal and soon Hira Nagar Police was informed by people which took the body into its custody and after identification handed over to its family members for last rites.
