Decline in Corona infections in Kashmir; 286 test +ve

Srinagar, Oct 5: A 95-year-old man was among five people who died of COVID-19 in Kashmir taking the death toll to 1255 while fresh corona cases have shown decline as 286 people tested positive in Valley taking the number of positive cases in J&K to 79738.
Those who succumbed to COVID-19 include a 60-year-old man from Baramulla who died at SMHS hospital in Srinagar, nine days after he was admitted there. He was diagnosed with bilateral community acquired pneumonia and hypertension.
A 95-year-old man from Rambagh Srinagar, admitted with T2DM, COPD, HTN with bilateral CAP on October 2 to SMHS hospital also died today.
An 86-year-old woman from Safapora area of Ganderbal district, who was admitted on September 26 to SMHS hospital, died today.
A 72-year-old woman from Habak in Srinagar city died a day after she was admitted to SKIMS Soura and tested positive for COVID-19.
And 54 Army and paramilitary personnel are among 286 people who tested positive for COVID-19 in Kashmir today, taking the total tally to 79738.
A number of these cases were confirmed at CD and SKIMS diagnostic laboratories which include cases from 30 CRPF, 19 from BB Cantonment Srinagar, three BSF and two from an Army’s RR camp.
Srinagar reported 119 cases, Budgam 39, Baramulla 28, Pulwama 15, Kupwara 23, Anantnag 20, Bandipora 15, Ganderbal 19, Kulgam 4 and Shopian 4.
As per officials figures, 15,652 positive cases including 303 deaths and 13,491 recoveries are from Srinagar; 5,114 including 88 deaths and 4,242 recoveries are from Budgam; 4,603 including 3,142 recoveries and 125 deaths are from Baramulla; 4,067 including 3,631 recoveries and 70 deaths are from Pulwama; 3,752 including 68 deaths and 2,970 recoveries are from Kupwara; 3,644 including 3,080 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Anantnag; 3,583 cases including 3,129 and 40 deaths are from Bandipora; 3,009 including 2,731 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Ganderbal; 2,301 including 2,154 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,054 including 1,863 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Shopian.
The positive cases in Kashmir division have reached 47,779 including 40,433 recoveries and 865 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 14, 696 including 6,481 from Kashmir division.
With 1,386 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 63,790 which is 79.99 percent of the total cases.
Moreover, 450 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals from Kashmir valley today.
