Death anniversary of Chhajju Ram observed

SAMBA, Dec 30:  The death anniversary of a noted social activist Late Chhajju Ram hailing from Vijaypur area was observed near Swankha in district Samba today.
A function was organiged in this connection  at Gho Rakwala to celebrate  the fourth death anniversary of  Late Chhajju Ram, who  belonged to village Swankha.    He was  the heart throb of the people of this area and served the masses with open mind  as genuine  social worker.
On this occasion a Satsang was organised where in, religious personality from Pathankote   Sri Gurdeep Giri Ji delivered  religious lecture. While paying floral tributes to  Late  Chhajju Ram, Gurdeep Giri Ji said that Late Chhajju Ram did  lot of  hard work throughout his life and he ably established his family members by providing good education. They also rose to higher positions.
Gurdeep Guri Ji further said people should follow the  example of such person who had   sacrificed his  life to make a  special  place to his family in the society. He further expressed satisfaction to his family members who  are rightly  walking on  footsteps of Late Chajju Ram.  He said a person who has born  will have to go one day but good deeds always remain there in the society for ever.
Worthwhile to mention that Late Chhajju Ram was born in 1937 at village Swankha, in the vicinity of  Baba Sidh Gouria. He served in Army  and later worked as a farmer and  social worker in  the area. He helped  lot of people out of his capacity. He successfully raised his family level from poverty to prosperity by dint of  hard work. He used to help poor by his all means. He breathed his last in  2012.
The function was attended by relatives, well wishers and some noted personalities from the district. Former legislators/ ministers Gurbachan Kumari Rana, S Manjit Singh, Yash Paul Kundal, Chaman Lal Retd IGP and D K Chadgal, Retd Chief Engineer   also attended the programme.
