POONCH, June 3: The dead body of 13-years-old missing girl, was today recovered by police from the river in Sathra area in Poonch district.
Official sources said that minor girl, Iqra Firdous, daughter of Mushtaq Ahmed, resident of village Arai in Haveli, ward number 6, was missing since May 30. A case FIR number 71/2026 was registered at Police Station Mandi in this connection. The family members and police were searching for the missing girl. Today a villager spotted the body at the river site and informed police.
Station House Officer Mandi, Nikku Ram said that locals saw the dead body near Sathra market on river side and intimated police. He said a team of police reached the spot and took body into custody.
SHO said that dead body was handed over to the family after conducting legal formalities. A case of kidnapping was already registered. The investigation into the case is going on, he added.
