UDHAMPUR, June 3: The District Level Inter-Zonal tournament for U/14 and U/17 Girls continued with great enthusiasm under the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports, Udhampur. A total of 178 girl athletes from different zones participated in various athletics events, showcasing talent and competitive spirit.
District Youth Services and Sports Officer Tarsem Singh attended as the chief guest and encouraged the participants to maintain discipline, dedication, and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
In U/14 Girls athletics, the 100m was won by Aarsha Devi, 200m by Anjali Devi, 400m by Ritu Devi and 600m by Vansika Devi. In field events, Anjali Devi and Khushi Malhotra secured Long Jump positions, while Aditi, Babli Kumari and Rajni Devi excelled in High Jump. Shot Put saw Aarya Sharma, Kiran Devi and Shaheen Akhter among winners, while Discus Throw was dominated by Swati Sharma, Mansi Devi and Preeti Magotra.
In U/17 Girls category, track winners included Anu Jasmidha (100m), Bansika Katoch (200m), Shallu Devi (400m), Gudia Devi (800m), Sapna Devi (1500m), and Shova Devi (3000m). Long Jump winners were Shreya Thakur and Ayushi Dogra, while High Jump was won by Ulfat Bano and Manvi Bali. Shot Put winners included Arshad Begum, Mandira Katoch and Monika Bharti, who also topped Discus Throw along with Gungun and Sunali Verma. Javelin Throw was won by Priya Sharma, Priya Rajput and Bhumika Sharma.
