RAJOURI, Feb 28: Going by the rich tradition of National Conference by satiating the aspirations of needy and destitute, DDC Dhangri, Rameshwar Singh today distributed financial assistance among widows of 67 Panchayats of Block Dhangri falling under the Kalakote constituency.
It is pertinent to mention that Rameshwar Singh during the campaign trail to DDC elections had vowed to give out his five years salary to the destitute and the needy and fulfilling his promise today he disbursed Rs 2000 and one suit each to 180 widows of the 67 Panchayats falling under the Block Dhangri. On the occasion, DDC Kalakote Anita Thakur, DDC Moughla Shamim Akhter, Municipality Chairman Vijay Suri, BDC Mougla Sulekha Kotwal, BDC Dhangri Tazeem Akhter and Th Yashu Vardhan Singh, Constituency incharge NC Kalakote, who is also NC Zonal Secretary Peer Panjal and Incharge district Rajouri, were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Rameshwar Singh said that National Conference leadership always remained on forefront in helping out the needy and under-privileged as those having knowledge about NC leadership’s past performance would never support any other party.
DDC Kalakot Anita Thakur said that NC has a strong base in the region because its leadership has toiled hard for satiating the aspirations of the people.
DDC Moughla Shamim Akhter said that the constituency is traditionally the bastion of NC as its leadership has developed the connect with the electorate by standing with them shoulder to shoulder.
Yashu Vardhan Singh appreciated the efforts of Th Rameshwar Singh for giving away financial support to the destitute. He said that his grandfather late Th Gain Singh and his father ex MLA Th Rashpal Singh also contributed a lot in the constituency to ensure welfare of the people. He said that he wanted to carry forward the legacy of his family by serving the society in the manner his father and grandfather did in the past.
Vice Chairman Municipal Committee Agyapal Sharma, senior NC leader Haji Feroz Din, Block president Ashok Sharma, Block president Dhangri Babu Bansi, Block president Mohd Tufail, Rattan Lal Padha Block president Dharamsal, Tilak Raj Sharma, Sarpanch Sadiq, NC leader Mohd Sadiq, Ranjeet Singh, Capt Yashpal and others were also present.
