KISHTWAR, Feb 10: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Angrez Singh Rana conducted an extensive day long tour of Nagseni area and inspected the on going execution of work on Naigadh Water Supply Scheme. He was accompanied by Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Kishtwar, Executive Engineer PHE Kishtwar, DSWO Kishtwar, Tehsildar Nagseni and other Sectoral Officers.

During the inspection, he checked the progress of execution of the scheme and the quality of the already executed work. The Naigadh Water Supply Scheme is the only water supply scheme which will cater to the needs of drinking water in Kishtwar town. It is the only ray of hope which will meet out the scarcity of drinking water in Kishtwar town.
The prestigious scheme extends from Naigadh nallah to Kishtwar town over a distance of 32 kilometers and passes through tough terrain and forest areas.
The scheme has been completed up to a distance of 17 kilometers in which the work of pipe line has been completed .The Xen assured the DDC that pipe will be laid over 1 more kilo meter by the end of this month.
DDC impressed upon Xen PHE Kishtwar and the concerned contractor to expedite the work execution and complete the project in stipulated time up to November 2018.
He also passed directions to the executing agency to simultaneously start the work of the construction of OHTs, filtration plant and laying of the distribution lines so that the scheme will be completed within the shortest possible time to achieve the objective of said scheme.
DDC also interacted with the public of Chingnana and Batpora who putforth various demands related to water scarcity, timely repairs of electric transformers, land compensation of various roads, upgradation of roads and pending payments under MGNREGA.
Meanwhile, DDC passed on instructions to the concerned Xen EM&RE to install electric transformer within two days out of buffer stock created under the CM’s commitments.
He also instructed BDO Nagseni to construct the water tank under MGNREGA at Chignana.
