DDC holds meeting for winter preparedness at Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Nov 17: District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Dr. Piyush Singla today convened a meeting with officer of various departments to discuss the action plan with regard to winter preparedness in the district.
Threadbare discussion were held on various issues which include action plan with regard to road clearance in snow bound areas, Smooth movement of vehicles on National Highway old and new, availability /dumping of ration items in the district, Winter plan for proper electric power facility at hilly regions of the district, provisions for smooth connectivity during winter, winter preparedness plan with regard to other essentials services etc were discussed in detail.
He asked the concerned to ensure restoration of road connectivity, stock of ration in vulnerable areas in advance and plan for early restoration of healthcare services, drinking water and electricity. He also asked the concerned departments to prepare action plan for essential service and submit within three days.
Dr Singla directed the concerned to activate men and machinery to minimize the chances of disruption of traffic and other essential services. AD FCS&CA was directed to ensure carry out winter dumping of ration at all the far flung areas which become cut off due to snowfall especially at Latti, Basantgarh, Panchari and Moungri etc to meet out ration requirements in these areas. Besides CMO was asked to ensure supply of medicines for the far-flung area during winter season within two days. For remote areas, the PDD department was asked to ensure a buffer of essentials service items is creative to reduce the replacement time. PWD, PMGSY were asked for road clearance.
He directed that there should be no delay in road blockade and, as soon as it happens, clearance machines should be pressed into service so that people do not face any inconvenience. The DDC called upon the concerned for additional efforts to complete stocking of essential commodities in accessible snow bound areas.
