DDC hands over 27 RCs, 332 DLs to postal authorities

KATHUA, Aug 30: In an effort to minimize the footfall of the applicants in RTO Office, Regional Transport Office Kathua today started postal delivery of Registration Certificates of vehicles during a handing over ceremony at DC Office complex wherein District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kathua, Rohit Khajuria formally handed over 27 Registration Certificates to the postal authorities.
DDC Kathua, while speaking on the occasion said that the newly added service will help applicants as the delivery of registration certificates will be done through speed post at the doorsteps. He said the object of this service was to save time of the applicants as well as to minimize the footfall in the RTO office.
RTO Kathua, Dr Raj K. Thapa informed that the Transport Department has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Postal Department to ensure quick and fast delivery of Registration Certificates of the vehicles on the line of driving licenses at the doorsteps of the applicant. He also handed over 332 driving licenses to the postal authorities.
While throwing light on the services offered by RTO Kathua Office, Dr Thapa said people have welcomed our earlier launched services of delivery of driving licenses through speed post which motivated us to go for extending it for Registration Certificates also.
