SAMBA, July 30: Deputy Commissioner Samba Mubarak Singh today convened a meeting to review the physical and financial achievements of PMGSY and NABARD road projects.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Chief Planning Officer, Superintending Engineer of PMGSY, Executive Engineers of concerned departments were present on the occasion.
The meeting had threadbare discussion on timely and quality completion of several projects being executed in the district. It was informed in the meeting that under PMGSY out of twenty projects twelve projects have been completed, while six projects are under progress and tendering process of two projects has been initiated. Similarly under NABARD Road Projects out of twenty five roads, eight roads have been completed and the remaining projects are in progress.
DDC expressed his serious concern over slow progress of execution of roads under NABARD and huge gaps between physical progress and funds expended for execution of roads under NABARD.
The DDC urged all the officers to work hard and issued strict instruction to the Executive Engineers of the concerned departments to complete all the schemes within timeframe.
Later, the DDC also started a plantation drive in Samba by planting the saplings in the office complex of Zonal Education office.
A committee headed by Additional District Development Commissioner has been constituted for monitoring plantation in all education institutions, Govt. offices and Panchayat buildings etc.
