Jammu, July 3: District Congress Committee Jammu Urban today reviewed the progress in the ongoing membership drive of the party here today.
In a meeting of the party unit held today under the chairmanship of senior vice president of DCC Jammu Urban, Sukhdev Singh Choudhary at PCC Headquarters Shahidi Chowk here, the senior members took stock of the progress in the on going membership drive of the party in the Urban areas of Jammu district.
Expressing satisfaction over the pace of party’s membership drive, Sukhdev Choudhary said that Congress is a strong unifying force which represents each and every section of the pluralistic society and that’s why all the right thinking people are reposing their faith in the policies and programmes of Congress party. He said thousands of new members have been enrolled in the party in Jammu City only. He asked the functionaries of the DCC Jammu (Urban) to put their all out efforts to enroll more and more people in the Congress party, especially the youth, women and people of weaker sections of the society.
Other speakers in their address strongly criticized one year BJP Government led by Mr Modi and said that BJP Government has totally failed on every front. They also criticized State coalition Government, especially the BJP and its Ministers for their utter failure to safeguard the interests of people of Jammu. They said that BJP Ministers and MLAs are befooling the people of Jammu on the issue of AIIMS and Artificial lake, moreover , there is shortage of ration, electricity and drinking water supply. They appealed to the people to question BJP over its surrender before the Kashmiri rulers.
Prominent among those who spoke and attended the meeting included Gurdarshan Singh, Inder Sehgal, Nazir Ahmed, Mansa Ram, Madan Lal Malagar, Dr RK Khajuria, Chanchal Popli, BS Mastana, Rachpal Singh Manhas, Sunil Kumar, Kulbushan Sharma, Dwarka Choudhary, Vijay Malhotra, Sandeep Dogra, Vijay Singh Chib, Pawan Dev Singh, Dr Vijay Sharma, Pawan Sharma, Chamail Singh, JL Koul, Suresh Kumar, Om Prakash Sharma, Kuldeep Singh Chib, Daya Ram, Janak Raj and Parshotam Kumar.
