JAMMU, Aug 9: Deputy Commissioner, Sushma Chauhan today convened a meeting to review the progress on 135 feet border fencing and Border Out Posts (BOPs) in the district.
During the meeting, various matters including status of land acquisition cases of border fencing (135 Feet), status of acquisition cases of BOPs, quantum of category wise land (State/custodian, private, forest, etc) lying in between border fencing and zero line, disbursement of compensation among benefactress were reviewed.
It was informed in the meeting that there are 55 cases under BOPs and 72 cases including priority projects under Border fencing (135 feet) are at different stages of clearance and execution. It was further apprised that 39 finalised awards were issued under border fencing and amount of Rs 3.82 crore has been disbursed among the beneficiaries by the respective SDMs.
The DC fixed specific timelines for completion of all the cases categorized under priority sector and exhorted the concerned officers to strictly adhere to the directions for achieving the set targets in time.
The DC further directed them to convene meetings with concerned authorities to resolve the pending issues regarding border fencing, BOPs and others. She also directed the officers to disburse the compensation amount among the beneficiaries where the final awards have been issued in a time bound manner.
A threadbare discussion was also held on the progress regarding land acquisition and requisition cases of the Army /CRPF.
Among others, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Chander Parkash, SDM South Jammu, Shrikant Suse, SDM North Jammu, Satish Sharma, SDM Khour, Anil Kumar Thakur, SDM R.S.. Pura, Jagdish Singh and SDM Marh, Tariq Naik were present in the meeting.
