DC reviews development activities around Ranjit Sagar Dam

KATHUA, June 26: District Development Commissioner Kathua Jitendra K Singh today   reviewed the development activities around Ranjit Sagar Dam and discussed the   problems of employees engaged at dam, here at a meeting of officers of district administration and the representatives of Ranjit Sagar Dam.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Kathua, SDM Basohli, Collector, Land Acquisition Thein,  Chief Planning Officer, CEO, Lakahnapur Sarthal Development Authority, XEn Ranjit Sagar Dam were present on the occasion.
The DDC held threadbare discussion on the issue of setting up a system for  prior intimation to the Ravi canal authorities regarding release of water from Ranjit Sagar Dam along, besides the measure to be taken for installation of early warning system   at vital vulnerable places  to minimize the chances of mishaps.
Other issues, including the difficulties faced by the members of displaced families in getting employment in Punjab Government were also discussed in detail.
The DDC assured the meeting that matter of employment will be taken up with higher authorities.
The meeting also discussed the land compensation cases of those families whose land was acquired for the dam. DDC directed the concerned to expedite the process for disposal of all the land compensation cases.
