DC listens to grievances of public at Tangdar

Kupwara, June 24: District Development Commis-sioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir today convened a Public Darbar-cum-Grievance Redressal Camp at Tangdar to get the first-hand appraisal of public grievances in far corners of the district and to redress them in a time-bound manner. The Darbar witnessed overwhelming participation of people from the area.
Sub Divisional Magistrate Karnah, Tehsildar Karnah, Xen PWD, BMO Tanghdar, BDO  prominent citizens besides local public participated in the grievance redressal camp.
Local residents apprised District administration of issues pertaining to PMGSY and R&B Roads, dire need for deployment  of human resources in health and Education departments, adequate supply and availability of ration at CAPD Stores etc. They vociferously put forth several demands including improvements in the condition of roads, ensuring attendance and  regular check on absenteeism in educational institutions and upgradation of schools, improved facilities in Primary Health Centres.
Meanwhile, the DDC offered a patient hearing to the grievances and issued raised and directed the concerned on spot to take immediate measures  for their redressal.
While addressing the public on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner urged the officers to address the issues at grass root level and put dedicated efforts towards resolving local issues of public importance.
He impressed upon all concerned to sincerely apply themselves in ensuring quality of developmental works in rural areas, particularly in the areas close to LoCs where people confront harsh conditions in their day to day affairs.
Later, DDC inspected various schools and works of R & B and RDD.
He also visited  flash flood affected families of Teetwal, interacted with them and expressed his sympathetic resolve to help them in rehabilitation. He also inspected the helipad construction site and Degree College Karnah.
He informed the people about district administration’s commitment in ensuring better connectivity between Tangdar and rest of the valley through the construction of much needed Sadhna tunnel, the demand for which has been projected by local representative and assured by the people at the helm of affairs.
The DDC said that Government has launched various schemes and programmes for the people of border areas and they should come forward and avail benefits.
