LEH, Feb 18: The Deputy Commissioner, Leh Prasana Ramaswami G, in view of the approaching working season inspected Skara Yokma, Murtsey Colony and Nemoling area along with team of engineers headed by SE PWD Tashi Chombel and CPO, Leh Tsering Angchuk. He took on spot assessment of ongoing and completed works under Urban Infrastructure Developm-ent Scheme for Small and Medium Town (UIDSSMT), Integrated Housing and Slum Development Programme (IHSDP).
The SE PWD and CPO, Leh informed the DC that under the UIDSSMT scheme a total of Rs 2078.65 lacs has been released for Sewerage System out of which Rs 2040.97 lacs has been expended, for Solid Waste Management a total of Rs 383.01 lacs has been released out of which Rs 208.15 lacs has been expended, for Water Supply a total of Rs 2467.08 lacs has been released out of which Rs 2454.32 has been expended and for Roads a total of Rs 2295.94 lacs has been released out of which Rs 1150.85 lacs has been expended till date.
Under IHSDP Scheme a total of Rs 541.70 lacs has been released and expended in full out of the total sanctioned project amounting Rs 984.90 lacs.
For proper and early completion of remaining pending works, DC directed concerned engineers to speed up all the work in close co-ordination among them and to try complete the major works in order to avoid inconvenience to the visiting tourists in particular and the locals in general.
