KARGIL, June 4: In order to ensure punctuality and discipline in Government offices, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Vikas Kundal today inaugurated the Biometric Attendance System (BAS) at DC Complex here by marking his attendance on the portal.
The officers and officials of various sections of DC office also started registering their attendance on BAS who were informed by the District Informatics Officer about the features of the new mode of attendance system.
The BAS developed by NIC is a user-friendly system through which employees can mark their attendance simply by entering the last 8 digits of their Aadhaar number and thereafter imprinting any one of their fingers on the Biometric attendance device. Further, both incoming and outgoing attendance will have to be marked by the employees.
The Deputy Commissioner said that BAS will facilitate the authorities to easily compile and examine the attendance status of employees thereby consolidating the reward and penalty system in Government offices, adding that it will ensure prompt public service delivery and will improve work culture in the offices.
