DC Jammu reviews implementation of ‘one district one product’ scheme

JAMMU, Sept 22: Deputy Commissioner Jammu Avny Lavasa today conducted a series of meetings to review ‘one district one product’ scheme, renovation of roads and finalization of Annual Plan 2022-23 under the Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojna (PMKKKY).
Chief Planning Officer, Yoginder Katoch, senior officers were present in the respective meetings.
The Deputy Commissioner said that district Jammu has a huge potential for dairy production and asked the concerned officers to take concrete measures to promote the milk and milk products in the district.
She asked the senior officers to sensitize the staff regarding the scheme and also create awareness among the aspirants, who want to establish start ups in milk/ dairy production as a medium of livelihood.
She also asked them to facilitate them through the related Government schemes from procurement of bovine/cattle to sale in market.
Regarding repair of roads damaged due to rains in different areas of Jammu district, the SE PWD gave a detailed resume of the works completed and taken up.
The DC asked the PWD to prioritise the blacktopping/ macadamization and filling of potholes on the roads where inflow of vehicles is high. She also asked them to complete the macadamization of all damaged roads at the earliest.
The Deputy Commissioner also convened a meeting to review the finalization of annual plan 2022-23 under PMKKKY.
She instructed the concerned departments to submit the pending NOCs of proposed 32 minor mining blocks as soon as possible. She also said that effective measures should be taken to provide minor minerals to the people at reasonable rates.
