DC discusses Eid-ul-Milad-ul-Nabi, Parkash Utsav arrangements

JAMMU, Nov 5: In order to discuss the arrangements in connection with celebration of Eid-ul-Milad-ul-Nabi falling on November 21 and the arrangements of Nagar Kirtan/ Parkash Utsav (Birth Anniversary) of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji falling on 21 & 23 November, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Ramesh Kumar today chaired a meeting with the officers of district administration and representatives of various Muslim and Sikh organizations.
DC took review of the arrangements put in place by various departments, including provision of transport, drinking water supply, cleanliness and sanitation, medical facilities and other basic amenities in and around Mosques and Gurudwaras in the district.
He stressed upon the officers of the Traffic Department to ensure proper management and regulation of traffic to avoid inconvenience to the devotees. Similarly, Police Department was asked to ensure adequate arrangements of security by deploying additional police personnel.
He directed Jammu Municipal Corporation to ensure sanitation in and around the mosques as well as Gurudwaras and install/repair street lights so that devotees do not face any inconvenience. Health Department was asked to ensure adequate medicare facilities and keep standby emergency ambulance services at the venues of major congregations.
DC asked functionaries of all the departments to ensure adequate and necessary arrangements well in time for smooth and colourful celebration of religious events.
On 21st November, a Vishal Nagar Kirtan of thousands of devotees from Chand Nagar, Jammu will start at 9 a.m. and marching through various bazaars will culminate at Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Guru Nanak Nagar, Jammu at around 5 P.M.
Earlier, DC Jammu chaired a meeting to discuss various issues regarding Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana” (AB-PMJAY) which promises to cover poor and vulnerable families by providing coverage for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization.
He discussed the action plan for generation and distribution of golden record cards in the district which started on 5th November and will continue till end of November. The meeting was informed that IEC activities to be done for mass awareness through print media and will continue till 10th December. Deputy Commissioner stressed for encouraging maximum private hospitals to be empanelled under the scheme.
