DC conducts inspection of developmental works in Kotranka

RAJOURI, Nov 28: To take stock of development activities and listen to people’s issues, District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today conducted an extensive tour of block Koteranka.
During his visit, the DC met with scores of public deputations who apprised him about a number of issues and demands including augmentation of water and power supply, macadamization of roads, better health care facilities, upgradation of schools etc.
The DDC gave a patient hearing to all the issues raised by the public on the occasion and assured quality disposal of their genuine concerns.
Motivating the public to register for SEHAT scheme, the DC said that the scheme provides health cover of Rs 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization across public and private empanelled hospitals in India.
Enlisting the benefits of various welfare schemes being implemented by the Labour Department for the labourers, the DC urged upon the unorganised workers to apply for registration on E-Shram portal.
Regarding the implementation of Forest Rights Act, he apprised the public that the District Administration has devised an effective strategy and weekly meetings of the DLC are convened and specific targets are assigned to the concerned to ensure the cent percent coverage of all the eligible beneficiaries under the Act.
He also briefed the public about various self employment generation schemes and appealed to the unemployed youth to come forward and avail the necessary benefits under these schemes.
Briefing about the efforts being made to boost tourism sector in the district, the DC said that a number of events including trekking expedition to Dokhs of Peer Panjal, Himalayan Bike rally etc have already been organised and arrangements for organizing border mela have also been finalized to explore the virgin tourist spots of the border belts.
The DC also inspected the progress on a number of developmental projects and asked the concerned to expedite the pace to ensure that the projects are completed within already set deadlines, besides he also asked for maintaining quality while executing the works.
Meanwhile, the DC also visited Eco Tourism Park at Kotranka where the locals demanded blacktopping of the approach road to the park. He passed on spot directions to the concerned for immediate blacktopping of the road.
The DDC also visited four to five Panchayats of the block where he met with the women farmers and apprised them about the Government schemes and motivated them to avail the benefits of the same.
