JAMMU, Nov 21: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking construction of District Court Complex at Samba, Division Bench of High Court comprising Chief Justice M M Kumar and Justice Hasnain Massodi has issued directions vis-à-vis release of sufficient funds.
When the PIL came up for hearing, Senior Advocate Sunil Sethi submitted that all formal steps have been taken for commencing construction on land measuring 40 kanal and formal approval by various agencies have been accorded. However, the project has been stalled due to delay in release of funds by the State.
On this, Advocate General sought two weeks time to seek instructions for release of funds.
After hearing Senior Advocate Sunil Sethi assisted by Advocate Vaibhav Gupta for the petitioner whereas Advocate General M I Qadiri with Senior AAG Gagan Basotra for the respondents, Division Bench hoped that funds would be released before the next date of hearing before the Bench.
The DB also directed the AG to come out with suggestions to resolve the issue relating to the road connecting the proposed District Court Complex at Samba.
