JAMMU, Nov 21: Gujarat Government will assist the Central and State Governments in security arrangements of BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s rally at M A Stadium here on December 1.
This was disclosed by party national general secretary, J P Nadda while talking to reporters here today.
Mr Nadda, who was on day’s tour of City of Temples today to review the arrangements for the rally said that Central and State Governments are actively involved in making the security arrangements for Mr Modi’s Jammu rally and they will be assisted by the Gujarat Government in this regard also.
The BJP leader expressed the hope that J&K Government will also provide foolproof security to the party’s Prime Ministerial candidate during his rally here and extend its full cooperation in this regard to Central Government. He made an appeal to the Government that in view of the threat perception Mr Modi be provided a special security.
Mr Nadda said that BJP is monitoring the security arrangements and in case it comes to know about any shortcomings in this regard, the party will intimate to the Government about the same.
Admitting that the space will fall short at M A Stadium for Modi’s rally, Mr Nadda said that there is a lot of public enthusiasm and large number of people will attend the rally.
Maintaining that it will be historical rally in Jammu, he said it will give new direction to J&K politics. He made an appeal to people from all sections of the State to attend the rally.
Mr Nadda said he visited M A Stadium in the morning to asses the arrangements for rally there. The Stadium has been sealed and sanitized fully by the security agencies, he added.
He said the place was selected keeping the security point in view primarily.
Mr Nadda however denied that there is any understanding or hobnobbing between BJP and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and all allegations in this regard are baseless.
He was flanked by BJP Legislative Party leader Ashok Khajuria, former State president Shamsher Singh Manhas and party’s National Executive Member and chief spokesperson of the State, Dr Jitendra Singh in the press conference.
